Description
Summary:The mode of inheritance of the ear traits considered as the yield components, namely kernel number and weight per ear were examined using diallel crossing method. Bread wheat varieties in study were from the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops (Novi Sad, Serbia) Breeding Program: Pobeda, Renesansa, Sara and Partizanka. As combining abilities of variance analysis suggested, a statistically significant share of both additive, and non-additive components was denoted. According to regression analysis, a well defined array of dominant and recessive alleles was observed due to genetically divergent parental varieties. Superdominance appeared to be the mode of inheritance for examined ear traits.
