Summary:Abstract The shapes of the inelastic interaction region of protons with energies $$\sqrt{s}=7$$ s=7 and 13 GeV are considered. The unitarity condition with different assumptions about the elastic scattering amplitude is used. It is shown that the sign of the imaginary part of the amplitude at large transferred momenta is especially important for the conclusion about this shape at small impact parameters (central collisions).
