Summary:This paper is related to the anthropology of food and nutrition. Objective: identify how children wholive in semi-rural zone perceive their bodies and the differences between sexes. We selected boys and girls, between 8 and 12years, nutritional diagnosis was made with BMI and a questionnaire. Results: there is a preoccupation for his body and adesire to have a thinner body especially among girls, we detected a considerable underestimation of BMI among infants; boysassociated a healthy image with age and physical activity. About food, fat and sugars are harmful to health, unlike fruitsand vegetables. We insist in the necessity to continue such studies.
