Summary:The paper presents the evolution of pork market in Romania, starting from the year 2009 till present. The research is based on a set of specific indicators such as: pig stock, obtained pork production, basic price, consumption, import, export, etc. The data used in this research were taken from the National Institute of Statistics, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and FAOSTAT. The analysis of pork market in Romania is a quantitative study and the used indicators varied from a year to another. The evolution pork market in Romania was determined by economic and financial situation in the country, and also by the fluctuations in the international meat market. Pork production is influenced by many factors, among which consumer demand occupies an important place. Consumer demand is influenced by the price of pork and the price of other categories of goods, consumer incomes and preference.
