Summary:This article discusses the origins of the School of Social Service of the Santa Fe province (created in 1943), with the aim of analyzing this educational project in relation to the Argentina’s political situation, the development of the provincial government, the regional modernization and the agents and intellectuals vision who carried out this initiative. We also analyze protagonist’s profile of this story: the first social workers, women who sought to fully integrate themselves into the labor market as professionals.
