Summary: | We have evaluated the quantum efficiency of photocatalytic activity by GaN films using methylene blue decomposition. The quantum efficiency of GaN was found to be comparable to that of TiO2, which is widely used as a general photocatalyst. These results suggest that GaN photocatalysts are effective to decompose not only water but also toxic compounds. Optimized GaN photocatalysts are expected to show even higher photocatalytic activity. |
