Description
Summary:By means of the analysis of the residential and professional practices of immigrant families over Ciudad Juarez, this essay tries to show that inside the well-known abstract categories such as popular urban residents and female maquila labor exists a wide range of populational profiles that is necessary to clarify. For this reason, the work hypothesis is based on a flexible correlation of the following variables: a) labor situation, b) migratory status, and c) the real estate and labor market exact situation. It is considered that the entrance moment on the labor and real estate markets (which speaks to us of the socio-economic and political context in which a cycle of urban integration begins), as well as the migratory situation of the head of the family, both define their labor and residential itineraries at the same time.
