Description
Summary:This article presents an analytical study on possible future directions of interdisciplinarity practices in school, within the context of the Basic Education. For this purpose, we explore a set of conceptual propositions found in the texts of some of the majors theoreticians of the interdisciplinarity in the present time, such as Gusdorf (1977), Lenoir (1997), Fazenda (1998, 1994) and Klein (2010), as well as we analyze interdisciplinarity practices described by Katz and Chard (1989), Klein (1990, 1998), Beane (1997), Fazenda (1991) and Lenoir (2006). For the methodological development of this study, we employed a form of conceptual analysis based on an approach proposed by Coombs and Daniels (1991). This form of derivative analysis allows us to distinguish, based on interpretive reading of theoretical texts or description of pedagogical practices, propositions and representations articulated to certain conceptual element - in this case, the notion of interdisciplinarity. Among the final considerations in this article, we highlight the role of the concepts of integration and transdisciplinarity, as sources of ideas to think about possible future directions for the interdisciplinarity practices in school.
