Description
Summary:In the present study the physical development of 44 children with autism spectrum disorders aged 2.5 to 15 years was assessed in Voronezh region by the percentile tables (Federal and World Health Organization). Results shows that every fourth child (25%) has a body mass index above the 50—85 corridor according to the standards of the World Health Organization, i.e. exceeds the average for children of this age and sex. The selectivity of appetite, which is reported by 72.8% of the interviewed parents of children-participants of the study, may be a possible cause.
