The object of the work consists of analyzing, from the legal-history perspective, using judicial records as the main source, trials raised among family members in the 1776-1810 period, in order to find out about the reception of the models imposed from the Castilian law and doctrine by family members and officers in charge of administering justice, at that time and place. We begin our work with a reference to some books and articles written about this issue, and then we continue with the importance of judicial records as a source to study of the history of the family, the legal and doctrinal frame in which the Castilian-Indian family developed and the analysis of the different types of family lawsuits, concluding with final considerations about the family through litigation.
