The question is particularly pertinent where political essays are concerned, and the way they have been received has been studied here through a broad selection of magazines published in early 1923. The way a book was received shows that the editorial logics and the logics of the media as related to the news of the moment are closely linked. Despite the specific constraints of editorial activity, it is indeed in the field of newsworthiness that the editorial offer meets up with critical discourse. The example of Drieu La Rochelle’s Mesure de la France, a text perceived as «representative» of its «times», however, illustrates how original (and how scarce) it was for a political essay to win «literary» recognition.http://journals.openedition.org/temporalites/298political essaysreader receptionpublisher’s collectionspublisher’s advertisementsmediajournals |
