Niveae) and P. multifida (sect. Multifidae) are supposed to be parental species for P. × vanzhilii. Besides, P. altaica, P. rhipidophylla, and P. tuvinica are found to be related to P. × vanzhilii. The features that distinguish these closely related species from P. × vanzhilii are indumentum and the morphology of leaf blades and generative organs. The distribution area, ecology and illustrations of the new nothospecies are provided, and its stability is proved.
