Description
Summary:The known geographic distribution of Siagonodon brasiliensis is restricted to three locations in the BrazilianCerrado, in Piauí, Bahia and Minas Gerais states. I present here a new record for this species in Minas Gerais. One specimenof S. brasiliensis was collected at Fazenda Sant’Ana, municipality of João Pinheiro, northwest Minas Gerais, on a plateau areawith sandy soil covered with Cerrado stricto sensu. The available information suggests that this species may be specializedin that kind of habitat. Pholidosis, morphometric and color characters of the collected specimen are presented.
