Summary:Although societies and countries of the Balkans can be shown to be extremely multicultural, multiculturalism as a politico-ideological concept has not been given its rightful place in these very societies and countries. For that reason, in this paper, we will try to show that development of security culture within different social subjects and institutions, such as educational, is a precondition for a better understanding of the contradictions and developmental prospects of multicultural societies (in the Balkans).
