Summary:In the context of current environmental issues are extremely important for the maintenance of life on the planet. Th e situation of waste produced by health services becomes even more serious because of its degree of contamination and the need for special treatment.Th us, there is need for awareness, given the fact that most professional and responsible management of these wastes are unaware of the biosafety standards or not put them into practice when the correct packaging of the waste. Allied to this, factors such as the absence or failure to implement landfi ll trenches with specifi c deposition of waste, endanger public health.Despite the existence of laws governing the subject as the RDC 306/2004 ANVISA, and Resolution 358/2005 CONAMA governing Waste Management, the action of bodies responsible for monitoring and assessment notice is still precarious.
