Summary:The fynbos shrubland communities of the southeastern Langeberg. Cape Province were analysed after sampling 97 quadrats in the Bergfontein, Rooiwaterspruit (Garcia's Forest Reserve) and Phesantefontein areas. Data were initially analysed using TWINSPAN and the resulting classification refined using Braun-Blanquet (BB) procedures. One Afromontane forest community and 16 fynbos communities are recognized and described. A hierarchical classification of the fynbos communities is proposed.
