Eleven mothers were interviewed and the questions addressed their perception, feelings and experiences about the welcoming in the unit. <strong>Results</strong>: From the analysis of the interviews, three guiding axes emerged and these were constructed from nine categories. It was found that humanization policies and programs in the obstetric area still do not meet the needs of parturients, which culminates in maladjustments in the process of childbirth and birth. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Analyzes of this study show that women are sensitive to aspects such as relationships with professionals, care centered on the person with their weaknesses and adequacy of the physical environment</span><span lang="EN-US">.</span>http://revistafacesa.senaaires.com.br/index.php/revisa/article/view/569humanização na assistência ao partopartoenfermagem obstétricaacolhimentoserviço de saúde materno-infantil.
