Summary:A peace agreement between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrilla movement was signed in November 2016. The former guerrilla movement, now a political party, is making extensive use of social media in the context of peace building. Analyses show that platforms such as YouTube and Twitter function as alternative public arenas where these new political actors can employ political legitimization strategies to rehumanize and rebuild the identities of former guerrilla fighters.
