Summary:Burning mouth syndrome is a painful oral disease without specific clinical symptoms. Explanation and definition of the disease depend on many factors and is characteristics to each patient.  3 types of this syndrome have been defined. Almost all oral disease specialists believe that burning mouth syndrome is multifactorial and have not mentioned any specific risk factor for it. Currently, etiologic factors are divided into 3 groups of local, systemic and psychological factors.
