Description
Summary:Childhood and adolescence are not as easy and happy as we would like them to be. The notion of a happy childhood is disrupted by the fact that children in that age have various problems which affect development. They can be individual, like illness, frustration, punishment, progressively increasing requests from adults which are often abrupt and with a lot of pressure and also difficulties of living in dysfunctional families and exposure to traumatic experiences. Pressures that disturb the growth and development of a child threaten to form a mentally healthy and emotionally stable personality. As for children with mental health disorders sometimes there are indications for a hospital treatment. Accent is placed on the need for their rehabilitation and social reintegration, thus the process begins immediately after the start of treatment, with continued schooling in hospital environment. In the process of providing psychosocial support it is essential to eliminate existing problems and work on continuous positive changes based on experiences gained in a safe environment, whose benefits are carried to the outside world.
