Summary: | Infrastructure development is one of the major threats to biodiversity in the forest. Roads are barriers which restrict the movement of animals. It is therefore urgent to explore characteristics of mammal life associated with forest road crossings. Mammals cross forest roads very rarely compared to the intensity of their movement within the forest. Data sets were created by observing footprints in the snow. The study concludes that forest roads are not an insurmountable obstacle for medium and large mammals. |
