It prescribes a specific mode of knowledge and action on the urban space at an international scale: the neo-traditional model, also called Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND). This model postulates an organic link between urban forms and social relations and this link can be understood in particular through the notion of urban landscape. Following the distinction between townscape and streetscapes, this article aims to understand how the notion of urban landscape is defined and shared by the actors of the TND in a context of globalization, circulation and competition of urban models. Through the example of the townscape and the New Urbanism, the article outlines how standards circulate and how they are legitimated through institutions and urban projects such as the project of the DPZ Company in Berlin. To conclude, it demonstrates that the actors of the TND have built an international network which promotes a normative and historicist urban morphology, although they have a weak symbolic capital in the professional field of architecture.http://journals.openedition.org/articulo/1133New UrbanismTraditional Neighborhood Developmenttownscapestreetscapescirculation |
