Summary:Literacy skills appear as one of the most persistent difficulties that people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder present throughout their schooling. The objective of this study was to know the parents’ perception of these deficits. 46 families of children and adolescents with ADHD participated. The results indicate that the majority of parents show problems in the  subareas of reading (especially reading comprehension) and writing (format and content) that influence their academic performance. These data support the importance of working on literacy in all educational stages.
