The study of ancient documents represents the preservation of the memory of a people, because through those one can know the history of cultural, political, religious and ideological of a particular social group, and the lexicon is the repository that engender socio-historical, cultural and linguistic. Accordingly, to edit semidiplomaticamente and analyze the vocabulary contained in the “autos de defloramento” the early twentieth century, legal documents that tell stories of young children “desvirginadas” who denounce their abusers through justice, is engage the webs that connect the lexicon culture and relationships of power that pervade Brazilian society of the early Republic. This study is the contributions of Philology, the bias that comes to text editing, and Lexicology, which provides subsidies so that we can make the appropriate analysis of the vocabulary.
