| Summary: | In this article, on the pretext of celebrating the 40th anniversary of PPGE/UFSCar, Brazil, the author, who teaches the Program from the beginning, based on the assumption that it is necessary to preserve collective memories, recalls its creation as well as important moments in its evolution. Special emphasis is given to the areas of concentration of the Program that, historically, have undergone transformations. It is also sought to link the PPGE / UFSCar with the graduation in Education in Brazil. As main sources, the author used her memoirs, documents she wrote on several occasions and others listed in the references.
Neste artigo, com o intuito de comemorar o aniversário de 40 anos do PPGE/UFSCar, a autora, docente do Programa desde o início, partindo do pressuposto de que é preciso preservar as memórias coletivas, rememora a criação do Programa bem como momentos marcantes de sua evolução. Ênfase especial é dada às áreas de concentração do Programa que, historicamente, sofreram transformações. Procura-se também relacionar o PPGE/UFSCar com a Pós-Graduação em Educação no Brasil. Como fontes principais, a autora utilizou suas memórias, documentos que escreveu em várias ocasiões e outros listados nas referências.
