Summary: | Object and purpose of research. The object of this study was monocrystallic alloy SLZhS5-VI marketed as resistant against heat and corrosion. Materials and methods. The materials for this study were the data of the corrosion tests performed in the atmosphere that simulated the one in the air-gas channel of marine gas turbine. The tests were performed on the gas dynamic test rig, and the gas flow was fed with sea salt. Main results. The study yielded the mass loss relationships for the material, both in air (oxidation) and in the gas flow, in the conditions of high-temperature salt-induced corrosion. These relationships were obtained for the temperatures of 700, 800, 900, 930, 950 °С. The results have shown that both in the air and in the conditions of corrosion, SLZhS5-VI alloy demonstrates considerably lower mass losses at the temperature of above 900 °C, which is unusual. The results obtained at the temperature of 950 °С were confirmed by the additional tests at the temperature of 930 °С. Conclusion. The results of this study can be used to design new materials, to assess other materials for the presence of this effect, to develop the coatings for gas turbine channel elements, as well as to assess the effects of heavy service upon the turbine. |
