In this study; neurology clinic of Selcuk University; from an interval of December 2017 - April 2018, we analyzed interventional procedures for diagnosis and treatment and found it worthwhile to present and share our experiences. METHODS: 115 patients were taken to the study. The diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and conventional angiography of all the patients in our study were performed by our own clinic as primary. These patients had other angiographic imaging, such as Doppler and MRA, before the angiography was performed. All patients were evaluated before and after the procedure. RESULTS: The mean age of the patients was 65.4. A number of males was 67. A total of 47 patients were the aortography. The bovine arc was present in 9 patients. 17 patients were diagnosed with angiography. 21 patients were fitted with carotid stents. Considering the intervention in the carotid or vertebral arteries, 26 of 55 patients who underwent DSA did not have any significant obstruction requiring intervention. Vertebral artery stenting was performed in 4 patients. 44 patients were intervened for acute ischemia. The average intervention start time was 4.56 hour. The majority of them consisted of MCA root blockage (n= 21, 70%). DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The use of interventional neurological procedures is increasing. It can be done in experienced neurology clinics. Diagnosis and treatment options are very beneficial for well-selected patient groups. Brain vascular diseases are one of the main disease groups of neurology. Therefore, neurologists should be able to perform interventional procedures and efforts should be made for these applications to be carried out in neurology clinics in our country.https://www.journalagent.com/tbdhd/pdfs/TBDHD-05945-RESEARCH_ARTICLE-OZDEMIR.pdfDiagnostic angiographycarotid artery stentingischemic strokeneurology clinic |
