Description
Summary:We observe an increase in the cases of alcoholic dependence among women. Nowadays, this kind of population has become to be considered in risk because of the use of experimental substances and addictive processes. Our research results that, among women, there exists an abuse of alcohol and its effects are very different from the ones in men. The different groups of population have suggested the need for adopting a gender view for the study and the treatment in women who are dependent of alcohol as well as other drugs.Methodology: It consists in a quasi-experimental before-and-after design. In this way, it is intended to evaluate the effects of a psycho- educational program oriented to a specific group: women with alcoholic dependence. It will deal with anxiety, assertiveness, awareness of the disease, own control of impulses and self-esteem.
