Summary:Introduction: It is unknown characteristiccs sex, biological and psychosocial of women with menopausal a physiological, and consulting climacteric and menopause of the Hospital Central Military "Dr. Carlos. J. Finlay". It information is important for health promotion actions. Objective: In completing the characteristics sexual, biological and psychosocial more frequent in posmenopausal women. Methods: We performed a descriptive, cross - sectional in 300 women posmenopausal, menopausal physiological confirmed. Collected the age (grouped 40-44, 45-49 and over 49), the time of menopause (grouped in less than 3 years, 3-5 years, 6-10 years and over 10 years), presence of genitourinary affections, physical, psychosocial and sexual symptoms. Results: Women older than 49 years (56 %) predominated with 33.4 % of 3 to 5 years of menopause, 6.7 % of genitourinary atrophy, symptoms of hot flashes 75 %, bone pain, 70 %, depression-anxiety and vaginal dryness, 50 %; 45 % of sexual dissatisfaction and difficulty in making decisions, 40% with difficulties in communicating with the partner and selflessness, 38.6 % had decreased sexual desire, while 16% increased their appetite sexual. Conclusions: as women climacteric studied were older than 49 years old, with menopause between 3 and 5 years, with a low percentage of genitourinary atrophy, with hot flashes, bone pain, vaginal dryness, depression, anxiety, difficulty in communication with a partner and decreased sexual desire.
