Description
Summary:This paper examines two initiatives of learned associations to construct integrating guides to the past in two localities: Manizales, Colombia and San Luis Potosí, Mexico through a description and analysis of the appearance and trajectory of the journals Archivo Historial (1918-1923) and Bohemia (1942-1947). These journals are treated as concrete expressions of the work of the intellectuals of these cities to generate and spread knowledge about the locality and the region. Behind the work is the question about the conditions and activities carried out by the creators of these publishing initiatives in their efforts to search, collect and interpret information in order to generate the milestones that established the local and regional past.
