Summary:The purpose of this study is to validate a method for determining erythrocyte magnesium by flame atomic absorption spectrometry with flame. During the process of validation values were estimated for the parameters that determine the performance of the method, such as: linearity, detection limit, limit of quantification, accuracy and precision. It was shown that the validated method meets the performance levels set by national and international standards related with the quality in the laboratory and ensures that the method is suitable for application in the analysis of erythrocyte magnesium in patients with different pathologies.
