Description
Summary:ABSTRACT Objective: this study aims to demonstrate the preliminary results obtained with the implementation of the new lens AcrySof ® Cachet at the Institute Penido Burnier in the years 2011 and 2012 - Campinas/SP. Methods: a prospective cohort study to evaluate the results of phakic intraocular lens Acrysof Cachet® in reducing the refraction of ten patients (20 eyes) with moderate to high myopia. Data were used pre and postoperative visual acuity with and without correction. All procedures were performed by the same observer and surgeon. Results: all patients undergoing this type of surgery had high myopia and age between 21 and 41 years. Of the ten patients, eight had visual acuity less than both eyes O,8q without optical correction after intraocular lens implantation. Conclusion: preliminary results of AcrySof intraocular lens implantation Cachet® show it to be a promising option for the reduction or correction of moderate to high myopia. The cases submitted to surgery showed a significant gain in visual acuity, with no intra and postoperative.
