We developed a qualitative approach adapted fromethnography and case study methodologies. We identifiedseveral routes of healing and care involving different healthsystems, each one bearing specific potential risks for health.Thus, this study provides information that may be helpfulfor health workers to stimulate patients’ autonomy and self-caring as well as to inform these patients about potentialhealth risks on the itineraries they may take, even if thesedon’t include the formal health system. |
