Description
Summary:Nowadays, when microenterprises and small businesses are recognized as being greatly important for the nation’s economy, it is understood that the main critical factors for their obtaining success are associated with innovation and sustainable development. The aim then is to establish policies and strategies that enable a suitable environment for these companies to become competitive through innovation. In this paper, drawing from a sample of 72 companies, we seek to understand how an organization’s internal factors are correlated with the ability to innovate. Metrics of the organizations’ level of innovation and development are used to evaluate the correlation between these variables. Weak correlations were identified among the four groups of the 18 companies of the total sample. This low correlation index could be explained by the institutional development level, where the actions being focused address only survival and maintenance in the market.
