A qualitative research study with a phenomenological design was undertaken and the methodology involved thematic analysis of narrated interviews and anecdotes by teachers. The findings revealed that physical education teachers have gaps in their undergraduate training with regards to pregnancy. The resulting effect is that a relevant change is produced in the class from the moment the young pregnant woman arrives, and where she receives differential education with respect to her classmates. The situation is addressed principally through the experience that the teacher has had as a father or mother. An important finding with respect to the pedagogical influence is that it changes once the student reveals the secret of her status to the teacher; he/she adopts an accommodating and hospitable attitude. Furthermore, components of the didactic approach, the contents, the methodology, the resources and the evaluation are also adapted partially to allow for safe and more suitable practices. . On the other hand, from the perspective of institutional dynamics, pregnancy is addressed more from a perspective of legal and preventive issues. Consequently, teachers see the urgent need to make adjustments and changes in curricula.http://revistas.univalle.edu.co/index.php/prospectiva/article/view/7278/9784GestationTeaching experiencePedagogical relationshipPhysical educationYoung pregnant.
