Description
Summary:Social Networking Sites (SNS) present certain singularities in the public sector linked to their potential to generate opportunities for innovation in public management. This article focuses on studying the concept of SNS in public administrations. To do this, I study its definition, its impacts, and its relationship with other concepts such as the open government and the paradigm of smart governance. In the same way, this paper approaches SNS as a part of social media adoption and institutionalization theories, bearing in mind the main strategies of use. Finally, this work points out some research foci and gaps, specifying methodological and theoretical avenues for future research.
