Summary:The present study deals with the quality of life of elderly patients with HIV. It is the development of a literature review whose interest was made through the perception of the growing number of elderly patients referred to the disease in recent years. The research helps to elucidate the question of how has been the acceptance of society regarding the broader aspects involving pathology and its segments. The purpose of it is important to realize that the people living with HIV in old age are socially included in various segments of society as well as in relation to the acceptance of the reatment, the importance of physical exercise and a good diet, appointed as nonsystematic review literature in the period 2000-2011. To identify these aspects we used some methodological tools necessary, searches occurred in the databases SciELO, LILACS, MEDLINE, PUBMED, institutional publications of the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization, between 2-13 years.
