The prime concern in nesidioblastosis is the prevention of dangerous hypoglycaemia which can lead to coma, brain damage or mental retardation. In this report we describe the presentation and perioperative course of a case of nesidioblastosis in a newborn who had persistent hypoglycaemia with convulsions in spite of high concen-trations of dextrose infusion.
