Gravimetric Analysis in Urban Solid Waste Management: A Systematic Review

This article aims to present a literature systematic review on gravimetric analysis in urban solid waste management for the past 10 years, from 2006 to 2015. Firstly, a search was made for articles on the subjects of gravimetric analysis and management of   urban resources on databases SciELO and CA...

Firstly, a search was made for articles on the subjects of gravimetric analysis and management of   urban resources on databases SciELO and CAPES. These materials showed that the per capita waste generation ranged from 0.203 to 1.60 kg/person/day. A large portion of the analyzed waste was organic, with an average percentage variation of about 48%. It was observed that the potential of recyclable materials varies between 8.87% and 76%, which allows us to affirm that there is an estimate of a monthly economic gain through the investment in recycling projects, keeping the generated capital. Therefore, gravimetric analysis is an important tool for the creation of more suitable and efficient urban solid waste management model.http://essentiaeditora.iff.edu.br/index.php/boletim/article/view/10022Caracterização gravimétrica.
