The links between agricultural production growth and nutrition are “extremely complex and not immediate” [Dury et Bocoum, 2012], and reveal a wide range of possible situations, from the most expected to the most paradoxical. It is then proposed to systematize the identification of the different possible forms of combinations of the three evolutionary trajectories of population, food situation and available resources, using relevant indicators, to have a refined view of these forms, characterize them and measure their acuity. One can then identify the levers and brakes to food security/securing in urbanization, market, land policy or development contexts, in order to help to efficiently target the accompanying measures and intervention policies, and evaluate their priority.http://journals.openedition.org/eps/7866demographic dynamicsfood securityagricultural performancecombinations of trajectorieslevers and brakes |
