Diagnosis of DL depends on the histopathologic characteristics of paracortical T-zone expansion with melanin, hemosiderin, or lipid-laden macrophages. Lymphadenopathies in patients with chronic dermatoses may be due not only to infections or malignancy, but also to reactive disorders such as DL.
