A correctly performed diagnosis enables the individualization of the process of penitentiary social rehabilitation, penitentiary and criminological and social forecasting, prevention of mutual demoralization of prisoners and ensuring order and security in the penitentiary unit. The article attempts to discuss in detail the personal identification tests of incarcerated persons carried out in penitentiary institutions and remand centers in the legal and criminal and psychopedagogical context.
