Summary:Periods of armed conflicts and wars as well as peace periods constitute the history of mankind. However, up to late XX century, despite the fact that peace remains a crucial condition of mankind development and existence, special emphasis was put on warfare culture. That's why the concept of «culture of peace» as the subject of scientific analysis has come into being only recently. The article regards basic approach to the concept and scrutinizes theoretical debate aimed to work out strategies of the concept analysis.
