Summary:Today, the developments in communication technologies increase the possibility of encountering the different cultures, ideas and identities around the world each day. Many factors such as the socio-economic standards, genders, education levels etc. of people are effective on their political preferences. It can be said that in today’s modern societies the intensive usage of communication technologies such as internet, mobile phones and computers is effective on the ways of thinking of young people. In this study, it was analyzed that the effects of digital media on the ways of thinking of young people by considering especially the reality of usage habits of youth in new technologies and spending much time with them. In the study it was used qualitative research method. It has a quality of phenomenological study in point of the effects of digital media on the ways of thinking of young people at secondary school age. The volunteer students attended to the study from three Anatolian high schools in two central districts called Kepez and Muratpaşa in Antalya. The semi-structured form was used as a qualitative data gathering tool. According to the result of the study, it is seen that a great majority of young people think social media affects their world views.
