Summary:The paper reveals how to solve a problem concerning optimization of a hinged and constant section plate. Finite element method is used for its calculation. Volume of the plate is taken as an efficiency function. Optimization is carried out with the help of a gradient method with search adjustment near boundaries established by parameter limitations. A foot plan is used for search navigation of an optimum decision. The proposed algorithm is implemented in the form of a computer program. The results of numerical calculations are given in the paper.
