Summary: | This article was published in 1969 in the 46th volume of the Cahiers internationaux de sociologie. Its topic always concerns the entire scientists community, beyond the artificial or obsolete frontiers between social sciences, human sciences, politics, economics, legal sciences, biology… Its analyses are in phase with the topical questions, it concerns the citizenship which wonders about the functioning of our contemporary societies. At last, its conclusion clearly proposes a sociology based on differentiation, the critical distance from an ideology in which stands necessarily the sociologist. This question, which is central for a few decades, is worth being reactivated and discussed in the new generation of researchers.
