Summary:Abstract: The purpose of this research described the implementation of zoning system that effect on the equalition of education on Sintang Regency. This research used qualitative approach with the method of Case Study. The subject of this research was the head section of middle school, education supervisor (Key Informant), Headmaster and Teacher (Supportive Informat). The technique was used document and interview. The analysis of data used Spradley model to analyze implementation of zoning system at Sintang Regency. The research found some of the result, they are: First, the implementation of the zoning system has had an impact so as to provide an opportunity for the implementation of educational equity in Sintang Regency, Secondly the zoning system was still constrained due to geographical conditions and lack of infrastructure. Third, there were still a number of subdistricts that were not ready for the zoning system to take effect. Fourth, education participation in Sintang Regency has not been implemented optimally because the compulsory education program only reaches 6 years.   Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan sistem zonasi yang berdampak pada perwujudan pemerataan pendidikan di Kabupaten Sintang, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekataan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah Kepala Seksi Pendidikan Menengah Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Sintang, Pengawas SMP, Kepala Sekolah, dan Guru. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan  studi dokumentasi   dan   wawancara mendalam. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan model  analisis  Spradley  .  Penelitian  ini  menghasilkan  beberapa  temuan, yaitu:  (1) pelaksanaan  sistem zonasi telah memberikan dampak sehingga memberikan kesempatan pada pelaksanaan pemerataan  pendidikan  di  Kabupaten  Sintang; (2) sistem zonasi masih  terkendala  akibat keadaan  geografis  dan  sarana  prasarana  yang  kurang; (3)  masih ada beberapa kecamatan yang belum siap dengan diberlakukannya sistem zonasi; dan (4) partisipasi pendidikan di Kabupaten Sintang belum terlaksana maksimal karena program wajib belajar hanya mencapai 6 tahun.
