Summary:Introduction: the course of basic brain-cardiopulmonary resuscitation is included in the curricular design of the undergraduate degree in Medicine, confirming the need to strengthen the learning process in students through the establishment of didactic materials. Objective: to create a complementary leaflet for the study of a basic course for brain-cardiopulmonary resuscitation in Medicine Studies. Method: a pedagogical research was carried out for the basic brain-cardiopulmonary resuscitation during 2018-2019 academic year at Pedro Borrás Astorga University Polyclinic in Pinar del Río city, Cuba, mainly applying dialectical materialistic method; which allowed the use of theoretical and empirical methods. Development: a complementary leaflet was created as a teaching tool for medical students in the first-academic year who are taught the basic course of brain-cardiopulmonary resuscitation; in consequence it guarantees a scientific and professional training, aimed at developing knowledge and skills that are easy to be understood. Conclusions: a complementary leaflet was available for the basic course of brain-cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as a valuable educational tool for medicine-students at first-academic year in order to train them professionally into the province or outside it.
