Summary: | The high level of poverty in North Buton shows the process of economic development have not been able to improve the welfare of society equally. This study aims to analyze how and how much influence the HDI and the pace of GDP growth in the level of poverty North Buton Year 2008-2014. The method used is the method of ordinary least squares (OLS), which uses multiple linear regression method to manage this data using SSPS. 16.0.
The results of this study indicate that the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.784, which means 78.4% of the poverty level variables can be explained by the HDI and GDP growth rate. While the remaining 21.6 percent is explained by other factors outside the model.
The results showed that the HDI a significant negative effect on poverty levels, the rate of GDP growth, but not a significant negative effect on poverty levels in North Buton.
