Summary: | <p class="Resumen">This article must as aim qualify the sociocultural university step as a need for the change and the social transformation of the communities, and specifically of the youths that there it reside. Through the method of action-participation as a whole with other theorecians and empiric it is demonstrated that with an appropriate step the universities contribute, with efficiency and efficacy, to the cultural development of the population by means of the projected partner, community. Expose the results and impact of the socio-community project ALTA youth that MIRA, been the protagonist of per students and teachers of the university of Orient as a whole whit youths of the community of Altamira, one of the location more disfavored of Santiago province of Cuba.</p>
